Kicking Ass In High Heels?: Examining Gender, Sexism and Feminism in Nearly a Century of Comic Book Superheroines lecture facilitated by Brandon Buehring – With images and fun trivia, we’ll explore issues of gender representation throughout the history of the mainstream comic book industry. The presentation will also highlight women comic book creators and will offer strategies and resources for fans interested in creating change within the industry.

  7. Is there any more info about the shirt making/zine making workshops? Do we need to bring shirts or materials? Is it provided for us or do we buy it? Thanks!

    • Hi Rachael!
      We’ll have some shirts available for free or cheap at the screenprinting workshop, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you want! As far as the zine making workshop goes, I think it’s mostly going to be a discussion of strategies & tips, as opposed to actually making a zine on the spot, but either way, they should have everything necessary provided for you!
